In conclusion, this study helps reinforce the novel classification of SCLC into molecular subtypes governed by the transcription factors ASCL1, NEUROD1, and POU2F3, while also providing context with respect to the TIME, further growing the body of literature with the aim of providing patients with better diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic options in the face of this highly aggressive malignancy. This evidence concerns the gene NEUROD1 and small cell lung carcinoma.
