In a study evaluating the correlation between various cardiac biomarkers and elements in human medicine, iron (Fe) was significantly positively correlated with cardiac troponin-I (cTnI) and both zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se) were significantly negatively correlated with cardiac troponin-T (cTnT), which suggests that these correlations may have positive prognostic value in patients with acute coronary syndrome [12]. This evidence concerns the gene TNNI3 and acute coronary syndrome.
