ID1 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia: To improve the risk classification of Colombian patients with B-ALL, our group identified that DNA-binding protein inhibitor 1(ID1) and DNA-binding protein inhibitor 3 (ID3) genes were overexpressed in nonresponse patients, and that this expression correlated with low rates of complete remission (CR), poor overall survival (OS) and shorter Event Free Survival (EFS), suggesting their value as biomarkers for risk stratification in the Colombian population (7).
