Responses made it clear that, among the people with T2D on insulin in their care, MDI would be interpreted to mean: basal‐bolus insulin therapy (74.3%), basal‐only insulin therapy requiring rescue injections of rapid‐acting insulin as appropriate (68.6%), basal‐only insulin therapy with the total daily dose split into two separate injections (77.1%) or use of premixed insulin given as two daily injections (80.0%).
