Among them, eight genes (YmoA, inhA, mcr-8.1, CopR, SasA, dgkA, sbmC, and dap) were located within the same gene region (16,409 bp in length), which we hypothesize is part of the pKP57-mcr8 plasmid (NCBI accession number: CP088130.1).The gene mcr-8.1 is associated with colistin resistance, a last-resort drug for combat infections caused by MDR Gram-negative bacteria (38). This evidence concerns the gene DGKA and infection.
