The associations between GDF15 with obesity (Valenzuela‐Vallejo et al., 2022) diabetes, (Niu et al., 2021), cardiovascular disease (Kempf et al., 2007; Li et al., 2020a; Peiró et al., 2019), and recently osteoporosis (Li, et al., 2020b; Mattia et al., 2023; Osawa et al., 2022) highlight the significance of GDF15 in human health. This evidence concerns the gene GDF15 and diabetes mellitus.
