TRAT1 and cancer: Accumulated research evidence shows that members of the TRIM family are involved in diverse cell signal transduction and biological processes, including autophagy (Kumar et al., 2017), cell cycle progression (Venuto & Merla, 2019), immune activation and inflammatory processes (Di Rienzo et al., 2020), apoptosis (Mandell et al., 2020), and DNA damage response (McAvera & Crawford, 2020), etc. Given the above regulatory functions, different TRIM family members exert multiple effects on cancer cell phenotype, proliferation, migration and invasion in cancer.
