Consistent with the hypothesis, it was observed that NSRP1 silencing led to an increase of NSD2 transcripts in the subpolysomal fractions and elevation of NSD2 protein expression in ER+ breast cancer cells, suggesting that NSRP1 inhibited the translation of NSD2 via promoting the skipping of exon 2 from NSD2 pre-mRNA. The gene discussed is NSRP1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
