Among the six indicators that differed significantly between patients with T2D and those with T2D VC (gender, age, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL), apolipoprotein A1, and M2 macrophages) (Table S3, Supporting Information), the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for M2 macrophages was the largest for the serological indicators (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.646, p < 0.05), with a sensitivity of 69.8% and specificity of 65.1% (Figure 1G; Table1). The gene discussed is APOA1; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
