Similarly, BRAF, NRAS, NF1, KIT, GNAQ/GNA11, CDKN2A, and PTEN mutations are common genomic alterations in melanoma; NOTCH, CDKN2A, and TP53 in squamous cell carcinoma and NTRK 1–3 in spindle cell sarcoma; and PI3KCA variants are common in ovarian, breast, and lung cancers, but rare in cutaneous malignancies. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and lung carcinoma.
