In a biochemical study, it was shown that although the use of IC87201 in neurological and animal models of ischemic stroke, pain, and depression seems very convincing, IC87201 does not bind the extended nNOS-PDZ domain (or the PSD95-PDZ domains) and is not able to inhibit nNOS-PDZ/PSD95-PDZ interactions (Bach et al., 2015).
