In recent years, cancer genome studies have found that most HBV-related HCC patients have at least one mutation in TP53, CTNNB1, AXIN1 and TERT promoter, and most of these mutations appear in the early stage of liver cancer, showing their close relationship with liver cancer development (Totoki et al., 2014; Zhang et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and liver cancer.
