Etomoxir, an irreversible inhibitor of CPT1A that suppresses fatty acid oxidation by targeting CPT1A, has been widely utilized as a FAO inhibitor in various studies and applied in treating autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) to suppress FAO and improve disease progression. Here, CPT1A is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
