Immunohistochemical analysis revealed an expression of vimentin and smooth muscle actin (SMA) in most spindle cells while staining for S100 proteins, CD117 (c-kit), DOG1, P63, CK (Pan), or anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK-1 A4) were found negative. To our knowledge, this is the first report of such a tumor created on the ground of chronic fibrosis from an inguinal hernia. Here, KIT is linked to neoplasm.
