Specifically, we aimed to affirm the genetic evidence for efficacy of IL6 signaling inhibition in AAA (including testing for a per allele dose-response relationship) and fatal AAA, compare against established positive control outcomes and coronary artery disease (CAD), investigate specificity for different types of aneurysmal disease, and explore heterogeneity of effect across population subgroups (including subgroups defined by sex, smoking status, hypertensive status, and prevalent rheumatological or connective tissue disorders).
