The identification of the DMD, WNK3 and DACH2 loci in the sensitivity analyses but not in the main analysis, despite its higher power, might be due to sampling variation, a dilution of the signal in the main analysis linked to the expected higher proportion of non-AD dementia cases among AD-proxy cases or a falsely inflated signal in the sensitivity analyses. This evidence concerns the gene DACH2 and Alzheimer disease.
