Asa’ad and coworkers (2023) demonstrated that homozygous carriage of the minor A-allele of DNMT1 was associated with decreased susceptibility to periodontitis and that the minor A-allele of TET2 was associated with increased susceptibility to periodontitis, whereas Coêlho et al. (2020) concluded that the T allele and the TT genotype of DNMT3B were detected more frequently in the periodontitis group compared with healthy individuals. Here, TET2 is linked to periodontitis.
