Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and phenome-wide association studies (PheWAS) have linked several single nucleotide polymorphisms, either within or closest to the PRDM16 gene, to BP-related traits, including diastolic BP (DBP), systolic BP (SBP), hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), and stroke (22–25). This evidence concerns the gene PRDM16 and hypertensive disorder.
