OPALIN and Parkinson disease: Furthermore, other PD-relevant (MAPT, IGF1R, INSR, HSPA1A, HSP90AA1, CNTNAP2, and CNTN1) (Uryu et al. 2006; Klein and Westenberger 2012; Infante et al. 2015; Castilla-Cortazár et al. 2020; Chatterjee et al. 2020), myelination-related (MBP, PLP1, and OPALIN), and astrocytic transporter (SLC1A3 [also known as GLAST] and SLC4A4) genes were also differentially expressed between disease-progressed and early-staged/healthy oligodendrocytes or astrocytes from PD patients (Fig. 1F).
