After stratifying patients according to those who received RT and those who did not, we found that for patients with esophageal carcinoma (ESCA) or glioblastoma (GBM), HO-1 expression did not correlate with progression-free survival (PFS) in patients who did not undergo RT, whereas its expression showed a strong correlation with worse PFS in patients who underwent RT (Supplemental Figure 9, A–D). This evidence concerns the gene HMOX1 and carcinoma of esophagus.
