Besides BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations that markedly increase breast cancer risk (Antoniou et al, 2010), hundreds of low- and moderate-risk susceptibility variants have been identified, including caspase-8 (rs2293554, rs6723097, (Park et al, 2016)), TIMP-2 (rs7501477 (Peterson et al, 2009)), and FSCN1 (rs56156320, rs3801004, (Wang et al, 2017)). The gene discussed is CASP8; the disease is breast carcinoma.
