Considering that MYBL2 has been shown to activate the PI3K/AKT pathway in colorectal cancer cells (45) and non-small cell lung cancer cells (46) and that E2F1 activated the PI3K/AKT pathway in squamous cell carcinoma cells (47, 48), we determined whether the PI3K/AKT pathway can mediate the function of E2F1, E2F7, and MYBL2 in GC cells. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and squamous cell carcinoma.
