CircFoxp1 forms an RNA-protein complex with DNMT1, recruiting DNMT1 to the Foxp1 promoter, which leads to promoter hypermethylation and subsequent inactivation, thereby suppressing Foxp1 transcription and enhancing the sensitivity of colorectal cancer cells to the chemotherapeutic agent capecitabine (16). Here, FOXP1 is linked to colorectal cancer.
