Annual data from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) report that induction immunosuppression was used in 92.1% of adult kidney transplants in 2022, with first-year post-transplant rejection rates at 7.0% for those receiving IL-2 RA, 6.0% for those given T-cell depleting agents, and 4.7% for those managed without induction therapy (6). This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and rheumatoid arthritis.
