Recently, numerous studies have demonstrated that CISD2 is upregulated in various tumors (Zhu et al., 2020; Liao et al., 2021; Yeh et al., 2022), where it promotes tumor cell proliferation by regulating calcium metabolism (Chang et al., 2012b; Shen et al., 2021), oxidative stress, mitochondrial quality control, autophagy, and ferroptosis (Chen et al., 2009; Sohn et al., 2013; Xu et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene CISD2 and neoplasm.
