Further supporting the link between pesticide exposure and PD come from reports of gene–environment interactions (GxE) between pesticides and PD,118, 119 including a synergistic effect and further increased PD risk following pesticide exposure and carrying variants in genes, namely BCHE in a study of 416 PD patients and 445 controls with self‐reported pesticide exposure.120. The gene discussed is BCHE; the disease is Parkinson disease.
