In a kidney injury mice model induced by adenine, the gavage of perilla peptides at 0.2, 0.3, and 0.6 g/kg for four weeks significantly reduced the levels of alkaline phosphatase (AKP), serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and malondialdehyde (MDA), and increased intracellular superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, the α-diversity of mice intestinal flora, as well as the levels of interleukin (IL)-β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). Here, TNF is linked to kidney injury.
