The carbonic anhydrase II (hCA II) enzyme was found to be associated with glaucoma, carbonic anhydrase I (hCA I) with epilepsy, acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) with Alzheimer’s disease, and the α-glycosidase enzyme with diabetes [21,22,23,24,25]. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
