A surge of new drugs that have proven to be effective in preventing CKD and CVD progression (sodium-glucose transport protein 2 inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, and finerenone) have increased interest not only from nephrologists but also from cardiologists and diabetologists for CKD starting from the early stages, and it is our hope that the future will be better. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and chronic kidney disease.
