CRP and hematologic disorder: When comparing the patients who underwent reoperation to those who did not after their initial bowel resections, it was observed that the reoperation group had lower BMIs before the initial surgery (19.6 ± 4.2 vs. 21.5 ± 3.6 kg/m2, p = 0.039), a higher prevalence of hematological disorders (46.2% vs. 9.1%, p < 0.001), and elevated median CRP levels prior to the initial surgery (84.7 vs. 46.3 mg/dL, p = 0.004) (Table 1).
