In the expression profile of the SAMP8 mice, changes were detected in the genes Wnt family (Wnt), Calpain (Capn), Interleukin 1 (IL-1), Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (P13K), Tau, Chemokine ligand (CxI), Chemokine IV (Cx IV), and Presenilin 1 (Psen1) which are involved in AD (Figure 7), demonstrating the relevance of the SAMP8 model as a model for sporadic AD. This evidence concerns the gene PSEN1 and Alzheimer disease.
