To investigate the number of newborn neurons of the Tlx-OE mice a long time after stroke, we performed the experiments described in Figure 3A. Only a few BrdU/NeuN-double-positive cells were observed in the damaged area of WT mice, and 4–5 times more BrdU/NeuN-positive cells were found in the Tlx-OE mice (Figure 3B,C). Here, NR2E1 is linked to stroke disorder.
