The G protein-coupled oestrogen receptor (GPER), a membrane-bound receptor distinct from the classical nuclear oestrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ), has been implicated in the regulation of PCa cell growth, and its activity is thought to intersect with various oncogenic signalling pathways [31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45,46]. This evidence concerns the gene GPER1 and posterior cortical atrophy.
