Among the significant genes identified—tumor protein p53-inducible nuclear protein 1 (TP53INP1), the translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 40 (TOMM40), and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex assembly factor 6 (NDUFAF6)—were those involved in mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, both of which are implicated in the development of AD and T2DM [170]. Here, TP53INP1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
