Emerging research indicates that, alongside Th2 cytokines like IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13, immunoglobulin IgG4 might play a significant role in EoE’s pathogenesis by inducing eotaxin-3, which promotes eosinophil infiltration and activation within the esophagus (Figure 1) [6,7].
