Patients with IBD, but not with endometriosis, may also show several markers of inflammation (i.e., elevated ESR, CRP, fecal calprotectin), signs or symptoms related to malabsorption or related to inflammatory-related hypercatabolism (hypocholesterolemia, hypoalbuminemia, folate deficiency, leucopenia), together with electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia, hyponatriemia, hypocloremia), up to sarcopenia. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is Hypokalemia.
