The Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS) was calculated to evaluate the systemic inflammatory response using the serum concentrations of CRP and albumin [43]: 32% (7/22) of AP patients had a GPS of 2 (severe inflammation), 64% (14/22) of AP patients had a GPS of 1 (moderate inflammation), and only one patient had a GPS of 0 (mild inflammation) (Figure 1A). Here, CRP is linked to alkaline phosphatase measurement.
