A similar study was done by Tung H. Ng et al., where they used quantitative RT-PCR and Western blots to detect the expression of eEF2K in primary tumors and paracancerous tissues of 20 patients with colorectal cancer and found that mRNA and protein levels of eEF2K were significantly down-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues. Here, EEF2K is linked to colorectal cancer.
