Moderate inverse correlations were observed between body mass index (BMI) and IL-1β levels in IRA (r = −0.545; p = 0.0002), peripheral arterial (r = −0.461; p = 0.002) and venous blood plasma obtained on the first (r = −0.464; p = 0.002), third (r = −0.332; p = 0.045) and seventh (r = −0.340; p = 0.042) day after MI. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and myocardial infarction.
