ELL2 and cancer: After the initial description of the transcription elongation factor ELL2 more than 25 years ago [1], ELL2 was found to play an important role in regulating transcription in various contexts including stress response, MYC‐driven cancer, secretory‐specific immunoglobulin heavy chain production, and viral transactivation of the human retroviruses HIV and HTLV‐1 [2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 14, 15, 18].
