BCL2L1 and neoplasm: Studies focused on tumor cell apoptosis have revealed that SRSF1 promotes the generation of anti-apoptotic splice variants of Bcl-x and Mcl-1, thereby reducing programmed cell death in breast cancer and chronic myeloid leukemia [25], whereas down-regulation of SRSF1 triggers the splicing of pro-apoptotic isoforms and leading apoptosis [26].
