Therefore, we used high-fat diet to mimic Westernized diet [2, 3]; Citrobacter rodentium, a human model of EHEC and EPEC, to mimic pathogenic bacterial infection [14]; Dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) to mimic chemical stress [2, 14]; and interleukin 2 receptor subunit gamma (Il2rg)-deficient mice, also known as the common gamma chain, to mimic genetic traits [22].
