In contrast to our finding, expression of RASopathy-linked mutations in Drosophila PTPN11 homologue csw leading to an increased pERK activity also resulted in an increase in the size of RRP as assessed by electrophysiological recordings as well as by immunohistochemistry of NMJ synaptic boutons of Drosophila larvae (Leahy et al. 2024, 2023). The gene discussed is EIF2AK3; the disease is RASopathy.
