One of the major factors of early tumorigenesis is known by many reports to occur due to hypermethylation of CpG island promoter, in our case, the APC promoter, so this insinuates that aberrant methylation doesn’t translate to invasive BLCA [35,36], which justifies even further the possibility for APC promoter methylation in urine samples to be an ideal early detection biomarker and a non-invasive diagnostic approach for BLCA. This evidence concerns the gene APC and bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
