HLA-DRB1 and autoimmune hepatitis: In a prior study, the HLA typing of a patient with ceftriaxone-induced hemolytic anemia showed DRB1*04:05 and DQB1*04:01 haplotypes, which are more common among patients with autoimmune hepatitis (16–19), and anti-Fya-mediated delayed hemolytic transfusion reactions related to HLA-DRB1*04:03 (20), suggesting that people carrying specific HLA risk alleles may be prone to producing drug-mediated antibodies.
