We chose to focus on those mRNA because: (i) ZIKV, in addition to other Flaviviridae viruses (DENV, WNV, and HCV), alter their N6-adenosine methylation status during infection (Gokhale et al., 2016; Lichinchi et al., 2016; McIntyre et al., 2018), and (ii) IGF2BP2 is a well-described ‘m6A reader’ which regulates the fate of bound RNAs (Huang et al., 2018; Li et al., 2019). The gene discussed is IGF2BP2; the disease is infection.
