HER2 activation involves its dimerization with other members of the ErbB family of receptors followed by provocation of downstream signaling axes, particularly, the PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways (Elster et al., 2015) promoting cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis, highlighting HER2 as a significant druggable molecular target in our fight against cancer. Here, ERBB2 is linked to cancer.
