We analyzed the core enrichment of this pathway, highlighting all genes with the greatest changes in gene expression (logFC >1) when we compared Stage IV with Stage I, and we found that they were APOD, COL1A2, FSTL1, GEM, LUM, and SPARC. As this signature was upregulated in Stage IV patients compared with Stage I intestinal-type GC patients, we referred to this signature as iGCPS, the intestinal-type gastric cancer progression signature. The gene discussed is GEM; the disease is gastric cancer.
