We extracted diseases prioritized by our approach for genes related to the receptor, namely IL6, IL6ST, and IL6R. We identified putative causal links between increased IL6 expression in CD16 monocytes and increased risk of varicose veins, ischemic heart disease, coronary atherosclerosis, and atrial fibrillation (MR beta > 0), but decreased risk of asthma and allergy (MR beta < 0) (Additional file 1: Figure S9; Additional file 2: Table S10). Here, IL6 is linked to coronary artery disorder.
