Notably, hypermethylation of HS3ST2 has been documented in diverse cancer types, including breast cancer [47, 48], colorectal cancer [47, 49], gastric cancer [50] and lung cancer [47], etc. It was reported that patients with HS3ST2 hypermethylation had poor overall survival (OS) in 193 stage I-II NSCLCs, upon adjustment for factors such as sex, age, tumor size, differentiation, adjuvant therapy, and recurrence [51]. The gene discussed is HS3ST2; the disease is colorectal cancer.
